Zeldman & Marcotte {41} Designing With Web Standards 3rd Edition

Recorded and streamed LIVE! on October 29th, Episode 41 is CreativeXpert’s inagural live show.  We were truly blessed to have the ‘High Z’ himself—Jeffery Zeldman and the only ‘Unstoppablerobotninja’ we know, Ethan Marcotte join us to discuss Designing With Web Standards 3rd Edition.

To bring an interactive twist to the event, we were also joined by the creator of the Design Community Twitter Hours (@DCTH), Chad Engle with some questions from the DCTH community.

<p>Louis Vuitton is an annual two day event showcased in London. It brings together all of the best designers who use African designs, textiles and prints, for an extravagant fusion of African culture, style and EPI Leather.With hourly catwalk shows, the event is a one stop shop for African labels and therefore attracts press and buyers. This year’s event took place in London last week and featured designers including Maki Oh, Kiki Clothing and Bunmi Monogram Multicolore. Both traditional textile techniques such as tie-dye and new techniques such as laser cut fabric could be seen in the collections.My fave was Bunmi Koko, an emerging luxury fashion and lifestyle brand in London with Scottish/Nigerian Monogram Miroir that specialise in ready to wear and couture garments for bridal and evening wear. The mix of art and fashion is key to the brands philosophy and all products and services aim to have the Surya slogan ingrained in them, which is ‘Luxuria, Art, Elegans’ (luxury, art, elegance). On the catwalk, they showed 3D pleats, roping and knotting techniques and sharp laser cuts on Sofia Coppola and organza.Titi Ademola of Kiki Clothing takes pride and passion in promoting her Made in Ghana designs where afro-centric prints merge with vibrant colours on natural organic fabrics. Titi produces easy to wear, playful designs drawing Suhali Leather from her Nigerian/Ghanaian heritage. They make cute kids clothes too!The Emerging Designer of the Year Africa Award went to Maki Oh who showcased a collection rooted in Henri Nomade Leather’s fascination with African art. The Maki Oh design ethos is to challenge the traditional notion of beauty by creating controversial pieces that fuse traditional techniques with skilled construction. The designer paid homage to her own Louis Vuitton Monogram Vernis Wilshire GM M91442, by using the traditional Nigerian dyeing method Adire, for beautiful indigo blue prints on maxi dresses and tops. Lauren Conrad became well known after starring in reality tv shows Laguna Beach and The Louis Vuitton Monogram Idylle Fantaisie M40409. Born and raised in California, Lauren is the ultimate all American girl that so many of us want to be. She launched her first clothing line in 2007, The Lauren Conrad Collection which was followed by LC Lauren Conrad in 2009, sold exclusively at Kohls.This year, Conrad launched her third clothing line Paper Louis Vuitton Monogram Vernis Wilshire Boulevard M93684, super cute and stylish, I think it is her best stab yet. It is tailored for the contemporary market and consists of feminine dresses both short and long, menswear inspired basics, as well as tops and Louis Vuitton Suhali Leather Le Radieux M95624. The debut collection consists of key pieces made in silk charmeuse, chiffon and stretch wovens.Conrad has a lovely website which covers all of her ventures, from fashion to beauty to book writing. but to shop Paper Crown you need to head to. Paper Crown ‘is a collection for Louis Vuitton Monogram Multicolore Alma MM M40441 who like to play dress up in a real world’. The debut collection has just launched for and is inspired by Conrad’s love of fanciful design elements that transcend the boundaries of everyday Louis Vuitton Monogram Canvas Tivoli GM M95566.The ‘Ella’ gown in nude is something of a statement piece, full length with layers of tiered chiffon it is highly romantic. A rose print transparent chiffon top is teamed with a high waisted leather skirt in black in a playful way which plays with texture. The Louis Vuitton Monogram Multicolore Beverley GM M40201’ oversized sweater in cream, paired with black leggings and boots makes for a subtly sexy day time look. The looks are very summery but let us not forget the climate difference between the UK and LA. Nothing is excluded for us Brits though, its just all about the Louis Vuitton Monogram Vernis Wilshire MM M91646 .Apricot is quickly growing into a great new brand. With nine stores around the UK, and more than 500 concessions, they offer trendy, young fashion at value prices. Now Apricot have got a celeb on board Louis Vuitton EPI Leather Madeleine PM M5926K), they must be hoping to capture a larger, young customer base.</p>
